Financial Control Module

Real-time financial visibility for accountants and department managers — including a Smart Cash Flow forecast with "what-if" analysis.

What it does

The Financial Control module gives accounting capabilities not available elsewhere: accountants quickly choose the groups of accounts to track, graphs show month-by-month actual vs. budget vs. last year, and every number drills down to its details. Department managers can watch their controllable expenses in real time instead of waiting for month-end.

Capabilities

  • Smart Cash Flow with "what-if" capabilities — saves hours of manual Excel work each month
  • Month-by-month actual vs. budget vs. last year, in graph and chart form
  • Track any P&L or balance-sheet account to focus on problem areas (roof repairs, travel expenses, and the like)
  • Reports by department/work center or cost center/cost unit
  • Analysis by fiscal year or rolling year
  • G/L-account-based reports: Current Balances, G/L Control, Actual vs. Budget Comparison, Financial Control Report and Cash Flow Forecast

Highlights

The Smart Cash Flow forecast

An on-demand cash-flow forecast that replaces tedious manual projections: display up to 20 columns of weeks, months or a combination, drill down into any figure, and include unlimited non-Macola® expenses such as payroll, loan payments and profit distributions.

The "what-if" analysis answers questions in seconds that used to take a spreadsheet afternoon — for example, projecting cash if customers started paying X days late, or including unreleased purchase orders in the projection.

Expense accounts, actual vs. budget vs. last year

Using a single account or a range, build month-by-month performance reports and graphs for exactly the accounts you care about. Budget figures come from the Macola® G/L — each report selects its accounts and budget scenario in its setup (the red wrench icon), as described in Setting up budgets.
