Material Requirements (MRP) Module¶
Time-phased material planning with no set-up — 25 weekly buckets of demand netted against 25 weekly buckets of replenishment.
What it does¶
The MRP module's regeneration program time-phases demand and replenishment: 25 weekly buckets of demand from customer orders and production orders, netted against 25 weekly buckets of replenishment from purchase orders and production orders. There are no hours of tedious set-up — material planning is effective from the first regeneration.
Capabilities¶
- 25 weekly demand buckets vs. 25 weekly replenishment buckets, rebuilt each regeneration
- No set-up required
- MRP Orders Report — pre-configured, and freely re-shaped by item, location, vendor, customer, product category, job and more
- Shortage views by item number, production order, vendor, customer order, product category or buyer/planner
- With the Inventory module: MRP time-phasing on the Item Detail View — projected on-hand by week, an instant detailed MRP view per item
- With the Production module: time-phasing inside Components Causing Shortages, with a date-ordered drill-down of demand and replenishment per component
Where to go deeper¶
This page is the module overview; the engine itself is documented in full:
- MRP Engine documentation — how regeneration works: BOM explosion, shortage calculation, tables and column reference
- MRP Orders Drilldown — the drilldown on the MRP Orders Causing Shortages report
- Enhanced tools: Purchase Order Generator, reorder and order-up-to level recalculation, safety stock, vendor lead times, and the multi-level bill-of-material report
