Preparing a Remittance File¶
Based on the Lockbox Sample File reference on leahyconsulting.com.
Pulse Lockbox reads remittance data from your bank’s lockbox file and from Excel, text and web-based EDI payment files supplied by marketplaces or customers. When you have a say in the layout, start from our sample workbook.
The sample workbook¶
The downloadable Lockbox Sample File is an Excel workbook that shows the ideal format for Pulse Lockbox. Its tabs demonstrate a range of layouts, each one adding a little more complexity — begin with the simplest tab that covers your data and only add complexity when your remittances require it.

The one field Lockbox requires is the invoice number — or some way to link to it, such as an order number or PO number. The more information your file carries, the better the automatic matching; lack of information means Lockbox has to make assumptions.
Bank-specific formats¶
Working from a bank feed instead? Format notes for specific banks are collected on leahyconsulting.com — for example the Wells Fargo lockbox format. If your bank is not listed, send us a sample file and we will map it.
Tip
Custom formats welcome. Pulse Lockbox is routinely customized to each company’s remittance formats — unlimited training and support are part of the product. Call (513) 723-8095 and we will set your formats up together.
